Media Monday: You Never Gave Up On Me

Have you ever been in a place where you were certain God had given up on you?

I’ve felt that a time or two.

Like He’d washed His hands of me, done with me and all my drama. I’d made too many mistakes. I’d deliberately chosen the wrong path.

I was too ashamed to face Him, completely forgetting that me at my worst is exactly who Jesus died for.

It’s funny how we tell others that God loves them, no matter what they’ve done. That grace extends over every situation and salvation is offered to all. But we look at ourselves in the mirror and decide that we are the exception.

But He never gives up on us. He is the ultimate cheerleader, not heading toward the parking lot when the score is 49-0 with only 20 seconds left. He is pulling for us, right up until the day of judgment.

I was this person…

🎶 I’ve been everywhere
Turnin’ over stones
Tryin’ to find a place to call my home
Tried everything under the sun
To numb the pain
Was all but done

Dirt on my grave
Covered in shame
In my lowest place
🎶

But He was this one…

You Never Gave Up On Me (The Afters, 2026)

You never gave up on me
Every time I walked away
You came runnin’ after me, oh

You never gave up on me
When I gave up on myself
Oh Lord, You never gave up on me
