A single stone…

I love listening to 104.3 The Bridge, especially first thing in the morning. It’s a little like taking my vitamins. But instead of biting the head off of an orange Fred Flintstone or green Pebbles, I’m filling my heart and mind with spiritual nourishment.

A line in one of the songs this morning felt like I’d hit some type of booster in a video game. It swelled and surged within me, filling me with a strength that has stayed all day.

The song, Rescue Me, was released this year by We the Kingdom. I loved it immediately. I even loved this one line. But today, it was more than a lyric to sing to. It was ammunition in my arsenal.

IT ONLY TOOK A SINGLE STONE TO DROP A PHILISTINE.

One stone from one faithful servant. And the giant was slain.

It’s all I could hear in my mind today every time a problem arose. “It only took a single stone…”

Are you fighting the Philistines in your life all on your own? You can fill up an entire ammunition belt and still lose the battle.

But when you turn the battle over to the Lord, it only takes a single stone.
