A lot of ups. A lot of downs.
Salvation ensured I never walked alone. But surrender changed the game.
I gave the Lord my whole heart as a child. But I continued to take back the reins of control. Or deceive myself into believing one little vice (code name: sin) would be okay. One always led to two, which then led to ten.
When I surrendered my every thought, my will, and my dreams to the Lord, erasing the Etch-a-Sketch of what I wanted my life to be and giving the One who created it complete control, there was not enough room inside of me to contain the joy that came with it.
The difference now is that I can go through hard times and still feel light within me. No matter how much darkness comes, letting the Holy Spirit lead is like putting a skylight in your soul.
