It wasn’t the immersive sound system at The Grand Theater that made Moses’ words to a dejected Joshua reverberate deep within my heart during Sight & Sound Theatres’ production of JOSHUA.
It was Truth.
We can shine a light. We can encourage. We can lead.
But we cannot pull a person out of bondage when they refuse to let go of the things keeping them there.
JOSHUA—Live!, the latest Sight & Sound production, was playing in theaters nationwide this week. The epic story follows Joshua from the Exodus to the Battle of Jericho, showing a man who trusted God in all circumstances. A man who made a commitment that he and his house would serve the Lord.
It was a powerful reminder that even when it looks like there is no way, God can make a way.
Dad and I met Tawney for the show this afternoon. Having seen David at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson this summer, I knew it would be amazing. Also, knowing those live show tickets are around $100, I knew I’d take advantage of the opportunity to see it at a fraction of the price. At least until it arrives in Branson—likely in 2028.
I saw myself in so many of the characters. The ones who followed faithfully. The ones who questioned God. The one whose choices were questionable but heart was pure—and whose courage saved her family.
I haven’t always gotten it right, but by the grace of God I am here today serving the Lord faithfully. I know there is nothing I will go through where He will not be with me.
Just like He always has.
