Test the light…

When it comes to sharing the words the Lord has laid on my heart, I have become Jeremiah with a fire that cannot be contained. (Jeremiah 20:9)

I cannot stop sharing.

I was thinking about this earlier today and some other examples of what it feels like:

🙌 A young girl so in love she can’t stop talking about her new boyfriend. Other people may get sick of it but she can’t help it. He’s the best thing that ever happened to her!

🙌 The Prodigal Son, so humbled and honored that he was welcomed back into the fold that he will do nothing but make his father proud from here on out.

🙌 A blind man given a miraculous healing of sight that notices everything, especially the things others took for granted because they could see all along. He even sees the colors that make up each color.

🙌 The Gadarean demoniac who was told to return to his hometown and declare the great things God had done for him. Set free, he was no longer ashamed only grateful and full of praise.

Most people today hear the story from Luke 8 and think of the crazy homeless guy stumbling aimlessly into the road and mumbling incoherently. They pray for his salvation, maybe minister to his needs, and hope he too can get set free from his demons.

Then they pull into their driveways and go into their homes while trying to silence the voices inside that tell them they are worthless or torment them with past memories. They buck up when they lose control; they numb their regrets with alcohol or television. They don’t even realize they are in as much bondage as the man on the street and because they can’t see it, they will never be set free.

When I started sharing these messages, the Lord made it perfectly clear. These words were for the church as much as the lost. Those who know they are in darkness are in better shape than those who are in artificial light.

Check out that glow around you. Is it the masquerade of 2 Corinthians 11:14…or is it God?
