One of the most disgusting things I’ve ever experienced is seeing my dogs throw up and then eat their vomit.

It makes me gag just writing about it.

And it also gives a very vivid imagery to Proverbs 26:11:

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

But the Lord wants us to know how truly horrid this is so He repeats it in 2 Peter 2:22:

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

These were merely words in the Bible that I’d heard my whole life until I physically saw it happen.

Then the revelation came.

And I was ashamed because I had returned to my vomit so many times. I’d rededicate my life to the Lord and serve Him faithfully for a few months….and then I was wallowing in the mire once again.

Back and forth, back and forth.

I was the fool returned to his folly.

Until one day when that vomit finally made me sick too. I didn’t want to see it; I didn’t want anywhere near it.

I allowed him to clean it up once and for all.

And I never returned.
