Grief and fear try to keep us bound, but the resurrection reminds us the grave has already been defeated. This song is a bold anthem that shifts our focus from sorrow to celebration — reminding us that death no longer has the last word.
When I hear it, I picture myself two-stepping right on top of the grave. The enemy once thought he had me bound. He thought I was down for the count — and to be honest, there were moments I almost agreed. But now I know most of his threats are only a mirage. The Lord has always upheld me with His right hand. I don’t fall for lies, and I certainly don’t crawl into a grave I don’t belong in. I am a child of the King — and that means I can dance on that grave.
This Week’s Focus:
Don’t tiptoe around what once terrified you. The grave is empty, and fear has lost its grip. Walk boldly in the joy of your freedom — and yes, even dance on what once tried to bury you.
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”
— 1 Corinthians 15:55
Dancing on the Grave (Christ For The Nations Worship, 2019)
And I’m dancing on the grave that once held me bound
I’m dancing on the chains that are laying on the ground
I’m dancing out of the dark, I’m lighting up the night
Your joy becomes a weapon and I am here to fight
