Media Monday: Alabaster Box

This song reaches into the deepest part of the soul — the place that may never be understood by the world, yet is fully known by Jesus. Like the woman in Scripture, she poured everything she had onto His feet, undeterred by whispers, shame, or judgment.

I’ve been in that place myself — where it was just me and God. I didn’t care who saw, or what anyone thought. All that mattered was that He knew I was giving Him everything I had.

This Week’s Focus:

Step into your secret place with the Lord. Close the door on outside perceptions and expectations, and pour out your heart freely at His feet.

“A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.”

— Luke 7:37–38

Alabaster Box (CeCe Winans, 1999)

And I’ve come to pour my praise on Him

Like oil from Mary’s alabaster box

Don’t be angry if I wash His feet with my tears

And I dry them with my hair

You weren’t there the night He found me

You did not feel what I felt

When He wrapped His love all around me and

You don’t know the cost of the oil in my alabaster box
