I cannot begin to count the number of times I thought life was over for me. I saw no future, no redemption, no reason to go on. I walked through life as a zombie, dead inside.
Letting your heart sink into the void feels like relief, but it’s a trap. It’s exactly where the enemy wants you.
You are buried alive.
But God is the grave robber. He snatches you from the jaws of death and breathes new life into you. His hand of mercy reaches straight into your rock bottom and pulls you out, rescuing you from the pit you thought was home.
Just as He rolled the stone away from the tomb meant to contain Jesus, He rolls the boulder from your past.
He brings you back to life.
This week’s focus: If there’s any corner of your life where you’ve made a bed in your hurt or shame, throw off the covers. Let the Lord roll the stone away for you to emerge in the newness of life. Satan may have won a battle or two in your story, but God has already won the war. Go ahead and claim your victory now!
🎶 Grave Robber (Crowder, 2024)
I used to live like a rebel, didn’t wanna behave
Thought a wretch like me couldn’t ever be saved
But everything changed, I remember the day
When I heard Him calling my name
Like a thief in the night
He snuck in, took my life
I was dead, now I’m alive and singing
I got stolen by the grave robber
Picked me up from that rock bottom
Washed my soul in that Holy water
Brought me back to life (brought me back to life)
One more stone rolled away
One more sinner been saved by grace
This dead man, he ain’t dead no longer
All because of that grave robber
📖 …even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. —Ephesians 2:5
