Being Still

This morning, I stepped outside into cool air and quiet stillness. I’d already done my devotion, made my bed, read my daily prayer card, and fed the dog. Simple tasks that were far from noteworthy, yet they filled my heart with such joy.

I love traveling and experiencing new things, but there’s something so pure about the simple things at home that often speak louder than the adventures.

As I drove down the driveway, noticing the mist rising over the pond as the sun peeked over the treetops, I had to stop and really take it in. It was a divine moment, a personal moment between me and my Maker, and a deep realization that a peaceful home should never be taken for granted.

Mornings like this remind me to never overlook the beauty right in front of me— the majesty in nature, the currency of calm, and the simple things in life that should never be underestimated.

The Lord gives us mountaintop moments — adventures, blessings, memories — but He also plants treasures in the ordinary. Sometimes the greatest miracle is found in the stillness, when everything inside and around you is finally quiet enough to hear Him whisper, “This is peace.”

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
