True joy is Satan’s kryptonite. Did you see the new Superman movie when he is caged and exposed continually to kryptonite? As it is weakening his power and making him deathly and useless, he tries everything to stop its power.
That is Satan with us, crippled and powerless when coming against our joy. He wants to steal it to regain his authority over you.
Don’t let him!
This week’s focus is on not letting the devil steal your joy. I know what it’s like to be on Cloud Nine pumped full of joy when out of nowhere a conflict hits at work or with a loved one. You find yourself free-falling back to earth, cursing yourself for even entertaining such a high that you knew would have an inevitable crash.
But it’s a choice…stay down and depressed over a situation that is likely only temporary or climb back atop that cloud and claim victory. The devil can’t steal your joy; he can only trick you into giving it up. DON’T!
Can’t Steal My Joy, Josiah Queen (2025)
In the valley of the shadow
I got a feeling it’s the season that’ll make me grow
I’m still breathing, I got praise in my lungs
And a choir in my soul
Can’t steal my joy
Can’t steal my joy
What the world couldn’t give, no, it can’t take away
Sorrow may come but it can’t
Steal my joy
Can’t steal my joy
