I come to the garden alone…
Remember that beloved hymn?
And He walks with me and He talks with me..
Do you go to the garden to be alone with God?
Even with a literal garden, you must set aside everything. Your books, your work, your phone. You need only pruning shears.
It is the same with a metaphoric garden walk with Jesus. You must lay aside books, phones, tablets, tvs….and give Him your undivided attention.
Otherwise you’re talking AT God, not to Him. And He’s talking to you but you are too distracted to hear Him. It’s like fellowshipping with someone in the next room. A room with soundproof walls.
Satan will do all he can to muffle the voice of the Lord in your life. Going to the garden regularly with God changes that. He’s been kicked out of the garden once. Kick him out of your garden too.
That’s reserved just for you and Jesus.
