Understanding Anger

Anger is a secondary color. You know how you have to mix white with the primary color red to get pink? Or yellow with the primary color blue to get green?

Anger never arrives on its own but when it shows up, it often takes center stage. I call it a playground bully.

Managing your anger, particularly with medication, is only treating a wound superficially. You must get to the root for true healing to take place. You must put it ALL under the blood of Jesus.

While you are excavating your own anger origins and allowing the Lord to mend the brokenness, give others the same grace. Their anger comes from somewhere too.

Whether they angrily cut you off in traffic, callously say hurtful things, or attack on social media, something primary within them has likely activated their ire.

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Luke 6:36

Keep a handle on your anger. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.. Ephesians 4:26

But search your heart for the real issue so that you may be free indeed.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24
