Hard-Launch Your Relationship With God

Lately I’ve seen celebrities use the phrase “hard-launch” instead of “going public” in regard to their relationships.

It’s merely semantics but we tend to love our lingo in America. The more you track, the cooler you are.

I’m on the kiddie train at Disney, tracking on a very basic level. Getting ready to hit the Middle Tennessee Strawberry Festival with my friend Susanna in May, I was within earshot of her teenage son and his friend discussing their own upcoming evening.

It was like a different language, only spoken in English with words that I’d grown learning vastly different definitions to. I felt like I was 100 years old asking what some of the words meant but I got it. Same sentiments from my own teenage years with different verbage. Changing language doesn’t bother me.

God doesn’t care so much about semantics either.

He just wants you! Whether you are making a public profession of faith or hard-launching your relationship with Christ, one thing is clear: there is no soft-launching with Jesus. (Matthew 5:15-16)

Sometimes we dwell in the secret places of the Lord (Psalm 91:1) but we should never keep our relationship with Him confidential.

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11
