It took me awhile to get this in my heart.
My head got it. I knew it was truth because I’d read it in my Bible for decades. But I didn’t FEEL it.
That’s because it was never about a feeling.
If you wait until you feel worthy of God’s goodness, you’ll miss out on it completely. We are spiritual beings in a fleshly body.
And in the flesh is no good thing. (Romans 7:18)
It’s as if we were born uncircumcised, wrapped in the evil of the world. The Lord hands us a scalpel from birth and trains us to cut the evil away until we are left pure and spotless before Him. (2 Peter 3:14)
We may see the excess flesh of evil in our lives. It may hinder us. We may have a hard time letting go or withstanding the pain of removing evil from our lives.
Others may see it on us, while it’s present and even after we’ve cast it away. (Matthew 7:3)
But God always sees past it all. He sees the being He created. He sees who He designed us to be. Our worth is immeasurable in His eyes. (Genesis 1:26)
I now see myself as He sees me. I strive to stand before the world and resemble Him each day. My feelings, my wellbeing, and my performance may fluctuate from time to time but my worth will always remain the same. (Isaiah 43:4)
