A Prophetic Calling

I became aware of a prophetic calling on my life last year. I was met with strange stares when I’d verbalize it, causing me to question whether it was real or yet another mind spiral.

It was hard to be sure; my reliance on mind-altering chemicals to cope was clouding my thought processes.

My behavior also mixed blessings and cursings, a biblical no-no.

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. James 3:10

As my mind cleared and my heart shed darkness, I knew my mission.

Bring all darkness into the light.

It had to start with me.

I’d actually thought He’d let me keep a little vice or two. I don’t know why I’d allowed myself to be deceived; I knew better.

This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

I closed all doors to sin in my life and stand now unashamed of my past.

He has forgiven me; no one else’s forgiveness is needed.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Not that I didn’t seek forgiveness from those I’d hurt. It was important to me.

But my freedom wasn’t predicated on their forgiveness.

I had to move on from those who were still upset with me. My focus is on Him, not the past and not the actions of others.

I lift them up in prayer just as I do those who bless me. The Lord puts the reminder on the dry erase board of my mind often.

Bless and show kindness to those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:28 (AMP)

It is made easier with forgiveness from the one I hurt the most in the natural realm. He supported my decision to leave my social media pages unedited to show the very real and extremely raw version of breaking free from five decades of trauma and strongholds last year.

He now stands in the light with me, a different type of reconciliation than most expect, while assumptions and excuses fly freely.

Gossipers and backbiters prefer to point fingers than step into the light themselves.

They will answer for that one day. They will have a greater judgment for cursing those God has chosen to do His work on earth.

And he that blasphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall surely be put to death…Leviticus 24:16

This is an eternal death.

I know where I stand with God. Do you?
